Submission Rules:

1.There are eight general art media categories.
2.Photographs of art must be straight and tightly cropped. Click here for tips on photographing artwork
3.If the submission has a watermark, it must be small, discreet and located in the bottom right hand corner
4.&ldquoSuggestive&rdquo work can not be accepted at this time for legal reasons. We will work out a system for erotic art later. Until then please remove anything of a blatantly sexual nature.
5.Upload only high quality pictures.
6.No background objects. Click here for a tutorial on images
7.No walls (except for sculptural work).
8.Show only the artwork in the photograph.
9.Copyright infringement is punishable by law.
10.No art pieces can be submitted in more than one media category.
11.Any artist who does not modify their portfolio to look professional or follow the submission guidlines may be removed.
12.We reserve the right to remove any portfolio for not following the rules.

Contest Rules:
1.The winner of the tournaments are the artists in each media category who are undefeated throughout the year-long face off competition.
2.There are new face offs every 5-6 days.
3.The winner of each face off proceeds to the next round.
4.The loser of a face off is eligible to compete in another face off after a one month period.
5.Eligibility for the face off tournament is based on the artist&rsquos portfolio ratings.
6.An artist&rsquos rating is weighted and based on a combination of curators&rsquo,artists&rsquo, logged in users&rsquo, and nonlogged in users&rsquo ratings.
7. The curators&rsquo ratings account for the largest percent of an artist&rsquos overall rating.
8. The artists&rsquo ratings account for a smaller percentage of an artist&rsquos overall rating than curators.
9.Logged in users&rsquo ratings account for a smaller percentage of an artists overall rating than artists.
10.Nonlogged in users&rsquo ratings account for a smaller percentage of an artists overall rating than logged in users.
11.All curators are verified.
12.Face off votes aren&rsquot weighted &ndash one person one vote.
13.The top seven rated artworks in one media category give the overall artist&rsquos rating.
14.Artists who have submitted work in multiple media categories have a rating based upon the combined average of each media category.
15.You must have 10 pieces in one media category in order to be eligible for that face off.
16.Overall rating for face off eligibility MUST be of seven pieces in one media category that are online for one month and have been voted on by at least 40 people and 20 logged in users and ten peers.
17.Individuals can re-rate art once every two weeks.
18.Artist portfolios must be rated for one month before they can be in the Face Offs.
19.Turning the rating system on and off in the preferences causes the rating time to reset.
20.Cheaters will be banned.

Please note:
The more works you submit in one category the better your chances of having a higher overall rating.
